Inn Description: The 1810 Juliand House is a 200 year-old, federal style, country house built by French sea captain, Joseph Juliand. Captain Juliand, born in Lyon, France, came to Greene in the late 1790's to be part of an established French settlement. He, along with Hannah his wife and their six children, helped build the village of Greene. The 5,500 square foot clapboard house has stood the test of time, retaining much of its solid, utilitarian feel yet adapting to today's modern feel.
The wide, formal hallway, separates the house with the guest area containing many rooms. The common guest rooms include a TV room with Wii and DVD, a formal parlor with fireplace, a library full of books and music and a full kitchen. Free Wi-Fi is just one of the amenities available to our guests. The outdoor space is just as large with comfortable seating and wonderful views of the valley. The inn is perfect for family outings.
Steve and Claudia Kachmarik opened the bed and breakfast in March, 2010. Steve is the chief chef who loves to cook a hearty breakfast. He takes great pride in shopping for the best quality foods. Ask him about the fried apples.
Claudia is a professional musician who, on occasion, will play the baby grand piano for guests during breakfast. You will find many of her stained glass projects throughout the house. Conversation is easy and guests find it hard to push away from the table.
