Inn Description: Carl and Judy opened Landon Hill as a bed and breakfast in 1996, after a year of restoration work. The house was constructed around 1860 in the Queen Anne style. Though some of the original detail from the house is now gone, Landon Hill retains much of its original charm. The foundation is constructed from solid-granite blocks quarried from the very hillside on which it sits. By the early 1900s the house was in use as a boarding house known locally as Sunset Camp. The house has changed hands several times since then, and now Judy and Carl Johnson call Landon Hill home

Rooms Description: Landon Hill features five distinctive guestrooms. Four rooms are located on the 2nd floor, and one room on the first floor is designed for individuals with limited mobility. Each room has a comfortable queen- or king-size bed, private bath, air conditioning, cable television, free wireless internet access and is smoke free.

Locations / Directions: From New Jersey/New York City - Take I-87 N/I-90 E to Albany (where I-87 and I-90 split). Use exit 24, the Montreal exit, to continue on I-87 North. Approximately an hour and a half north from Albany use exit 25 on I-87N for Chestertown. Turn left onto Route 8, proceed for 1.3 miles. At the blinking yellow light, turn right onto Landon Hill Road. We are the first house on the right.

From Montreal/Plattsburg - Take I-87 South to exit 25 (Chestertown). Turn right onto Route 8, proceed for 1.3 miles. At the blinking yellow light, turn right onto Landon Hill Road. We are the first house on the right.

From Syracuse/Rochester - Take New York Thruway I-90 East to I-87 (Northway). Take I-87 North to to exit 25 (Chestertown). Turn left onto Route 8, proceed for 1.3 miles. At the blinking yellow light, turn right onto Landon Hill Road. We are first house on the right.

Alternative Scenic Route from Syracuse - Take I-90 East to Utica, then take Route 12 North to Route 8 East through Speculator to Chestertown. Go just a few miles past Loon Lake and look for a blinking yellow light, turn left onto Landon Hill Road. We are the first house on the right.

From Kingston/Toronto - Take CA Rt. 401 East to Border Crossing for NY Interstate 81. Take Interstate 81 South. You can choose to continue on NY 81 South to Syracuse and follow the above directions. Or you can take NY Interstate 81 South to NY Route 12. You can choose the high road or the low road. The northern route - exit NY Route 12 onto NY Route 28 through Old Forge to Blue Mountain Lake. Take NY 30 and 28 South to Indian Lake then Route 28 South to Weavertown. Take NY Route 8 through Riparius (one lane bridge). Just a few miles past Loon Lake, and look for a blinking yellow light, turn left onto Landon Hill Road.

The Low Road - Just stay on NY Route 12 until you see NY Route 365 to Route 8 East. Take Route 8 East through Speculator and Riparius. Just a few miles past Loon Lake look for a blinking yellow light, turn left onto Landon Hill Road. We are the first house on the right
